Greetings. Recently, the website I use for this site updated their service with some diagnostic options. Playing around with them I was surprised at what I found. I don’t really expect anyone to go to this site or even read it. Many people have (which I find surprising) and many leave comments. Here’s what I found interesting and I’m going to share it with you so you don’t think you are the only one who checks here. Since I created this site a couple years ago, 2500 people have visited or viewed it 4200 times and those people are from 41 different countries around the world. Now, I know a big time influencer would find that piddly but, as I don’t advertise, promote, or sell things on the site, I thought that was a pretty good number. Just say’n!
ABOUT US: We retired in Florida after traveling the US and the world during Bill’s 40+ year career in and for the US Air Force. During that time and since our retirement we have traveled extensively as our principle method of entertainment.
After ten years of retirement in Florida, we have moved to Australia. There, we joined up with our Son and his family to spend more time together and enjoy the family life. We still travel but maybe not as far or quite as often. For now, this website will continue to record our travels. In a bit of a change it will start reflecting insights of Australia as twe discover more and more about our new home.
We do not present ourselves as a travel agency nor a travel advisor. What we present here is our own experiences as we experienced them through our own lenses. The information presented are observations and feelings we experienced and is not intended to persuade you to do or not do something the way we would. We are not hikers but enjoy walks, both short and long, We are not foodies but enjoy good food and trying new foods. We don’t spend a great deal of time in cities unless there is something really specific to see or do that interests us. We usually keep moving, seeing a lot of country, sights, people, and local color. We travel by car, ship, plane, or bus depending where and how we want to visit somewhere. Most often we travel alone, just the two of us, but do sometimes include other couples. We avoid large tours, big ships, and preplanned itineraries. We generally develop a timeline, a straw man agenda, study information about what they will seeing before we leave, and are flexible during our travel.
Everyone travels differently, experiences things in different ways, spends more or less money, has different preferences, and are physically and mentally able to handle things in different degrees. This is our story, you are most welcome to read it, ask questions if you have any, and enjoy it.
You can read more about us and our travels in Bill’s books. They are available on amazon.com …. just put “Bill Rumpel” in the search bar and they come up.
